We all are a fan of different chutney's or sauses that brings out new dimension of flavours for our pallate. Well some like it hot while other like it mild, however you can bet that this side dish is a must for every household in some or the other way.
All of us has their own method of preparing these chutney's. Same chutney or sause can taste very diffrent jst by altering the ratio of its ingredient depending on the region, culture or our own choises, this is what gives it an altogether a diffreent taste as given in different hands.
I was very find of chutneys since my childhood, my mom use to , and she still does, prepares an amazing variety of different chutneys with every main couse as a side dish. we also savoured these with the evening snack or as a spread for our sandwitches.
As growing up i also dfeveloped this hobby of cooking and experimenting with ingredients and try to recreat her dishes as close as possible. here i am goin to tel you how my mom makes this authentic and traditional green corriander chutney.
lets take a look!
- 1 cup Corriander
- 7-8 cloves garlic
- 1 inch ginger
- 1 tbsp salt (as required)
- 1 tsp tamarind paste
- 6-7 chilies (As per your taste)
- 1 medium Red tomato
First of all, to start your preperation take all the ingredients together.
Now take corriander and wash it throughly, chop it coarsly to small bits. Also wash and chop tomatoes along with ginger, garlic, chillies.
Chp coarsly and put all the ingredients, corriander, tomato, chilli, ginger, garlic, tamrind paste, salt into the blender and blitz it coarse or smooth as per your choice. i have made a thick paste consistency.
Finally, Store it in an air tight jar and its good to go for a week.
tip:- While stoaring for longer time, add a tablespoon of olive oil over the chutney. It prevents developing unwanted bacteria while alter the taste and color of the chutney and also increases its shelf-life .
