To be frank, Evening snacks have always been a mental trouble for me when it comes to variety. I mean sometimes you don't know what to cook which is light yet filling enough to spend the evening perfectly. Family comes back home tired and hungry, wishing to be savoured with a delectable evening meal. Well, i come across this dilemma every day. sometimes its readymade snacks that save us, however you cant serve that each day. Evening snack should be light, yet wholesome.
One day I discovered this recipe, which turned out to be perfect for that evening craving. and my family loved it, which is the best part.
You can definitely try this for breakfast too, Also its great to be carried when you are going for a picnic with your family or the school tiffin box for your kids.
Go ahead and try this for those little, uninvited cravings. LOL!
- 2 tbsp Mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp chilli oregano salad dressing (Veeba)
- 1 small onion finely chopped
- 1/2 cup cabbage/Lettuce finely chopped
- 1/2 tbsp black salt/common salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper crushed
- 1/2 tbsp Red chilli flakes
- 8-10 slices whole wheat Bread
- 1 Tbsp Amul butter
First of all, In a large bowl put all the ingredients together except salt and give a good mix
We will add the salt at the time of stuffing the sandwiches with the filling.
Take all the slices of bread and lightly coat them with butter.
Add salt to the filling and taste the seasonings.
Now, Fill bread with the stuffing and place them into the sandwich griller. Allow it to cook for 1 minute and take it out. Do this with all the sandwiches.
Finally Cut the sandwiches diagonally and serve with mayonnaise or your favourite green chutney
