Rainy season is about to start in most part of India. Meanwhile in Bangalore, its drizzly and breezy weather most part of the year. We all love to savor the wholesome, spicy pakoda's with ginger tea/coffee while enjoying the rain in our balcony. That sounds perfect! Well today i am sharing with you my recipe of palak pakoda/ spinach fritters which is enjoyed by my family every single time i make it.

 lets jump straight to the recipe.

  • 1/2 kg Palak/Spinach washed and finely chopped
  • 7-8 tbsp Gramflour
  • 2-3 tbsp Rice Flour (optional)
  • 2 tbsp Ginger-garlic paste
  • 3-4 Green Chillies (Chilli powder is optional)
  • 2 tsp Home Made Garam Masala
  • 1 tsp Chaat Masala
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 pinch Baking Soda (for that extra crunch)
  1. First of All, In a large and clean bowl, Mix  palak, gramflour, Rice flour, ginger garlic paste, salt, chillies, homemade garam masala and pinch of baking soda together. 

  2. Add Water slowly and make a thick consistency batter.

  3. Heat oil in a pan/wok.

  4. Now, With the help of a spoon, pick the batter and drop it in the hot oil. Fry on both sides till its golden brown.


  5. Strain out on a kitchen towel o remove any excess oil.

  6. Serve hot with Coriander chutney or tomato sauce.
